Here we have set some points over things that designers should consider when using a vacuum-formed thermoplastic.
Material selection according to area of use:
- Outside/inside
- Operating temperature
- Mechanical strength
- Exposure to chemicals
- Requirements for finish/surface condition
- Requirements for joints
Design adapted to the vacuum forming process and subsequent finishing:
- Release Angles
- Rounded outside edges and corners
- Radii in inner edges and corners
- Tolerance customization
- Minimum radius for processing
- Availability of lots to be processed
